Who we are
ME Montessori Nursery and Pre School is an Ofsted-registered early years setting in Aylesbury, caring for children from 5 months to 5 years. We are based at Bedgrove Community Centre in Bedgrove Park — a calm, green setting that becomes part of how we work.
We follow both the Montessori philosophy and the EYFS framework simultaneously. This is not a compromise between two approaches — it is a strength. Both are built on the same foundations: respect for the child, rich language, freedom of movement, a prepared environment, and the kind of warm, consistent relationship that allows children to feel secure enough to truly explore.
We are a small nursery. That is deliberate. Small means every child is known, every family is in relationship with us, and every room is calm enough for children to think.

Our approach
Montessori philosophy
Developed by Dr Maria Montessori, this approach centres the child as a natural learner. Children choose their own activities from a carefully prepared environment, work at their own pace, and develop independence, concentration, and intrinsic motivation — qualities that stay with them throughout their education.
EYFS framework
The Early Years Foundation Stage is the statutory framework for all registered early years settings in England. We plan and assess against all seven areas of learning and development, tracking every child’s progress with care, consistency, and regular communication with families.
Bilingual enrichment
Children’s brains are built for language acquisition in the early years. We provide bilingual enrichment woven into the daily experience — supporting cognitive flexibility and widening the world every child grows into.
Key person system
Every child has a named key person — a consistent, trusted adult who knows their rhythms, tracks their progress, and is the primary point of contact for their family. Not a policy requirement. A genuine relationship.
Montessori + EYFS — how they work together at ME
Both frameworks prioritise the same thing: the whole child. The Montessori philosophy deepens what EYFS requires — adding a prepared environment, independence, and the child’s natural drive to learn. EYFS gives the Montessori approach a clear progression structure and ensures every child’s development is tracked and supported. Together, they produce early years education that is both principled and measurable.

Our setting in Aylesbury
We are based at Bedgrove Community Centre, Bedgrove Park, Ambleside, Aylesbury HP21 9TT. The setting gives us both indoor space for our Montessori learning environments and access to outdoor space — something we treat as essential, not optional.
Outdoor learning is built into every day. From the earliest age, children spend time outside: natural materials, seasonal changes, and the physical freedom of outdoor space are all part of how children learn at ME Montessori.
We are straightforward to reach from across Aylesbury and the surrounding area, including Wendover, Haddenham, Bierton, Stoke Mandeville, and Weston Turville.
Moments from our nursery

Community snack time — shared rituals that build belonging and language from the very start.

Flower arranging — a Montessori practical life classic. Concentration, fine motor control, and beauty, all at once.

Community runs through everything we do — children, families, and educators, learning together.
Why ME Montessori
Parents in Aylesbury have options. Here is what makes ME Montessori different:
Ofsted rated Good
We are independently inspected and registered. Our Ofsted rating means an external expert has assessed our safeguarding, the quality of teaching and learning, and our outcomes for children — and found them all to be good.
Both EYFS and Montessori
Most nurseries follow one or the other. We deliver both. The rigour of EYFS progress tracking, combined with the depth of Montessori methodology. Your child gets the best of both frameworks, not a choice between them.
Small by design
We are deliberately small. Every child is known, every family is recognised, and every transition is managed with care. Our size is a quality decision, not a limitation.
Bedgrove Park setting
A calm, green setting in the heart of Aylesbury. Indoor Montessori environments and outdoor space used every day. The setting is part of the education — not just where it happens.
